Representativeness of airborne brake wear emission for the automotive industry: A review

چکیده

Brake wear gives 16%–55% by mass to total non-exhaust traffic related PM10 emissions in urban environments. While engines have become cleaner the past decades, few improvements were made lower emission until recently. Researchers developed several experimental methods over years assess brake emissions. However, observations tend differ from a method another with respect many disciplines, ranging particle system characterization cycles, and it remains difficult compare results of different research groups. It is so crucial get consensus on standard method. The following article lists limits which influence measurements has be taken into account when comparing works laboratories. This also discusses how design tests relevant braking characterization.
